Wall of Joy: Children’s joy that helps
The Tereza Maxová Foundation in cooperation with EPG Property Group and the Central Shopping Centre will officially present a unique exhibition – “Wall of Joy” – on Monday, 2 June 2025 at 16:00. This art installation was created on the occasion of International Children’s Day and will be permanently open to the public at OC Central. The project also has a strong philanthropic dimension – for each donated picture, the foundation received a financial donation, a total of 240,000 CZK, which will be transparently returned to the Most region to support the education and development of disadvantaged children.
The project combines children’s creativity with philanthropy – 350 works of art were created by children from children’s homes, primary and elementary art schools in the Most region. The whole exhibition was curated by Natálie Roučková, who helped to transform the individual views of joy into one strong artistic whole. The exhibition also shows how deep and authentic children’s perception of emotions can be – and how art can be a means for expression and change.
“We are delighted to be part of this charity project and to provide a space to showcase the talents of local children and support their artistic development. We believe that art can be a powerful tool for expressing emotions and developing personality,” said Martin Malý, marketing and communications director of EPG Group, which owns the Central Most shopping centre.
Each picture represents an individual child’s view of joy – for one it is the sun, for another an animal friend or a feeling of safety and acceptance. Together, they form a mosaic of shared happiness that enriches not only public spaces but also people’s hearts.
“The Tereza Maxová Foundation’s long-term effort is to contribute to the cultivation of goodness and positive change in society. We regularly involve children in our projects to experience the joy of helping and to foster their empathy and kindness. Wall of Joy is a beautiful example of how children’s creativity can change the world around us,” said Terezie Sverdlinová, Director of the Tereza Maxová Foundation.
