Thank you Accenture for a wonderful and long-lasting partnership

Our cooperation dates back to 2007, when we first supported children from orphanages and foster families together. Since 2011, we have been working together on the Accenture Academy project, which prepares young people from orphanages for the workplace. To date, we have jointly supported 580 children who have gained 1,067 work experiences through the project.

We wanted to introduce young people to the job interview in a fun way, so Accenture created Jobventuraa job interview simulation. In 2017, Accenture colleagues were also involved in the project You can do it and its social recruitment agencies. For the project, they developed a methodology for working with young people who have been through institutional education. One of the big heartthrobs was also participation in the sports charity happening TERIBEAR moves Prague, where every year Accenture runners and walkers stood on the winner’s box with ease – in 2023 alone they ran 11,960.2 km and thus raised CZK 239,204 for a good cause. Above and beyond all, some foundations also regularly support our activities with payroll deductions, for which we are extremely grateful.

In one sentence – thank you for years of amazing partnership that has changed the lives of many disadvantaged children and young people, thank you for your trust, selfless help and closeness that has moved our collaboration by leaps and bounds to many happy endings.

A story of help, Katka 19 years old:
“I have been living in the orphanage for more than ten years. Like others in our home, I have not had it easy in my life, I have no one to rely on in my family, and gradually all my family members have failed me in some fundamental way. I only keep in contact with my half-sister, who is older and is a great role model for me in my approach to life and in my approach to education and study. I joined the Accenture Academy project out of curiosity, and have participated in financial literacy courses, job fairs, and online seminars. The best part is meeting my aunt, our case manager. I try to take advantage of various job offers and part-time jobs in our region. At first, my aunt, who manages the project in our country, helped me to find temporary jobs, and I learned not to be afraid to approach employers and respond to job offers. Now I do my own temporary jobs, they are weekend and holiday jobs. I work in a pastry shop, where I serve, and I have also worked in an amusement park as a cashier. I bought a new laptop with the money I earned, which I use for studying and I am planning to go to Rome with the money I earned from my part-time jobs. I am very grateful for the support of the Foundation and the Accenture Academy project, among other things, the cooperation helped me to get a good orientation, to increase my financial literacy, to get acquainted with the labour market, to gain work experience.”
