Sausages, laughter, and guitars: summer just the way it should be
On Monday, nearly our entire Tereza Maxová Foundation team attended a wonderful summer campfire event, to which we were invited by representatives of the Salesian Youth Center in Plzeň, which our foundation has supported for many years. This year, the traditional residential camp “Spolu na Pohodu” —designed for children growing up in foster care—took place, unusually, in Prague, with a total of 15 children participating.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d imagine at a summer bonfire: guitars, singing, laughter, and friendly conversation. There was also a soccer game, a “MasterChef at Pohoda” cooking competition, T-shirt painting, and, of course, roasting sausages—because what would summer be without this classic tradition?
We really enjoyed the time we spent with the kids, the counselors, and with each other as a team. We love moments like these—they remind us why our work is meaningful and how important these simple, carefree summer moments are.
We’d like to thank all the children and counselors for inviting us and for letting us be a part of their summer camp.
