Cybersecurity workshop helped moms protect themselves and their children
The last Friday in September at the Kolping shelter was in the spirit of cyber security awareness. Together with the nice team from Kolping shelter and experts from ING Bank we organized a workshop that combined a nice meeting with a very important topic. In today’s digital age, almost everyone encounters the pitfalls of the online environment – which is why it is important to know how to protect yourself.
The workshop was led by Jan Kominek, IT security officer from ING Bank, who said:
“There are many risks lurking in the online environment that can affect not only mothers but also their children. The webinar showed them how to avoid these threats and provided practical tips on how to protect their privacy online.”
Mothers from the shelter learned, for example:
- how to create a strong password,
- how to spot fraudulent emails and SMS,
- what to look out for when buying online,
- how to protect children from inappropriate content on social media,
- and much more.
The workshop was held as part of our long-term Lighthouse project, which the Tereza Maxová Foundation is implementing together with ING Bank. The aim of the project is to support parents in need and prevent the unwanted removal of children from their families.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the organization and the workshop itself. Together we are helping families to be stronger and safer – even in the online world.
