In Ostrava and Olomouc we experienced a little big magic. In cooperation with partners, the Tereza Maxová Foundation organised another special screening of the fantasy film Alchemist Academy for children. Thus, almost three hundred children from socially vulnerable families, foster families and children’s homes in the Moravian-Silesian and Olomouc regions were able to experience a special magical day… and you could tell by the laughter in the hall. After the screening, there was also an autograph session and a discussion with the film actors. For many of the children it was the first time they had ever been to the cinema in their lives.

Why do these days matter?
At the Tereza Maxová Foundation, we know that a shared experience in the cinema is more than just fun for children at risk. It helps them to overcome financial barriers to culture and prevent feelings of social isolation.

It was a day to remember. We are glad we could show the children that they are welcome in the “big” world and reinforce their healthy self-esteem and awareness of their own worth.
